FAQs...You say you specialise in ‘reportage’ wedding photography. What does that mean exactly? Does that mean you don’t do any groups shots? What about formal shots of the bride and groom?

Do you take any photographs in black and white?
Yes, I take both colour and black and white pictures throughout the day. I can also turn pictures shot in colour into black and white if requested.
Do you shoot digitally, and if so, is the quality as good as film?
I waited until I was satisfied with the quality of digital cameras and I now use Canon EOS5D cameras with 12.9 mega pixel quality which, in my opinion, is now better than film. Shooting digitally allows me to take a greater variety of pictures at no extra cost. I am also able to create an online gallery of all your wedding pictures within 2 days.
On the wedding day, at what time do you arrive?
If I am booked for the whole day, I usually come to the bride’s house about an hour and a half before the ceremony to take some pictures of the bride’s preparations. If the groom as staying nearby, I will also get some pictures of his preparations. If I am booked for 4 hours, I will start at whatever time you choose.
When do you leave?
On a whole day booking, I always stay at least until the first dance in the evening. On a half day booking I stay for about 4 hours from when I started.
Do you work nationwide or abroad?
Yes, anywhere in the UK or Europe (I speak French, German and Italian if anyone is considering a wedding in those countries.) I do not charge for travel within 50 miles of Bedfordshire.
How many pictures do you take?
If I am present for the whole day I will often take up to 600 pictures. From these you can choose the best 100 images (depending on your choice of album) for the album. On the shorter packages will take perhaps 100 pictures on the 2 hour package and around 200-300 on the 4 hour package.
How do we see the pictures?
I can put all the pictures onto an online gallery within 2 days. The gallery remains online for at least 6 months. I also supply you with a CD of all the wedding photos, so you can choose the prints you want for your album. This CD is yours to keep. If you prefer to see preview pictures instead, I can arrange that. You can also have a high res. DVD of all the pictures, to make your own prints, for £250.
How can friends and relatives view the pictures and order prints?
I give out cards with details of the online gallery at the wedding so everyone has a chance of seeing the pictures. They can also order prints online or by phoning me.
How long do you keep the wedding pictures?
I keep at least 2 copies of all the wedding pictures indefinitely, so that reprints can be ordered at any time in the future.
What backup is there in an emergency?
I belong to a network of wedding photographers who will step in if any of their number is unable to work on a wedding day.
What is the first step if we are considering making a booking?
If you give me a ring or email me, I will arrange to come round to your house (or you can come here if you prefer) to show more examples of my work, the choice of albums I offer, and to discuss anything you want to about photography on your wedding day.
Do we need to pay a deposit?
To secure a definite booking, I need a deposit of £150.
When do we pay the rest of the money?
The balance, less £150, is payable 2 weeks before the ceremony. The final £150 is payable on delivery of the finished album.
Will we meet again before the ceremony?
I usually have a fairly comprehensive discussion of what is required at the initial meeting, leaving final details to be arranged by email, but, if you prefer to have a second meeting before the ceremony, I am happy to do that. If you choose the ‘Glorious Books’ coffee table album, a free engagement photo session is included in the price.
